It been a bit since I've been on. We have been making incredible strides with Sid as far as his eye health goes but some days when he wakes up his eyes look a bit red and irritated. He may be rubbing them while in his hidey hole. I'm wondering if there is anything I can use drop wise to help with slight irritation. They aren't infected it doesn't last but I'd like to help him experience relief when they are bugging him and it seems like a bit of a waste as far as a vet trip. (He's already been and has a great bill of health.) I do think he could benefit from a drop to relieve the redness. I'm hoping one of you can recommend an over the counter drop. The membrane on the inner side shows because of his exotropia and I think that plus the eye exhaustion from trying to see the little bit he can see is what causes him to rub them. Thanks in advance!
The pictures are of Sid hanging out in his house, napping with mum, Sids house, and Sid helping build his house. Just sharing my joy!

I put up a shelf with a nearly 2 pound squirrel sitting ON THE DRILL (boy does that change the balance). No, I didn't run the thing with him sitting there and the whole thing turned into a comedy where I had to lock him outside and me in his cage (where the shelf was going). When done, discovered that he had jumped against the door to the cage and somehow the hook on it fell just perfectly into the eye for it and I was actually locked INSIDE the cage. I was happily able to reach it with the drill bit so I could pop it up and off but the whole thing took quite a bit longer than one might think putting up a shelf would take.
Have you ever tried just plain saline drops? You couldn't find anything much gentler and I wonder if it just gets dry?

I was unsure if that was acceptable. This is the first time we've dealt with squirrel eye problems lol. I also think it's just dry eyes. Sometimes his eyes don't close all the way when he's sleeping. I will get some salon drops today and give them a try. Thank you so much for the advice.
