Hey guys, I've posted on the forum a few times before and yall have been super helpful! As an update, maple is doing amazing, if anything just gaining a little weight that we are trying to exercise off with walks. She is now 8 months old and has learned how to kuk and tail flip thanks to listening to other squirrels. We're still working on the quaa part. But today she made a new noise that it seems few have an idea of. It's literally like a cat meow. I have a link that is the exact same sound. Does anyone know what it means or if your fuzzy fluff does it too? Thanks guys! Also, here's a recent pic of the sweetheart snuggling with me in her favorite fleece. She literally cannot sleep without it!

That's a new sound to me. Maybe someone here has heard it.

That is a sad sound like begging, as the squirrel in the video was doing, wanting to get it, or perhaps to be fed, or return to where they once lived, or all three. It could be made from wanting to get out, or be fed in captivity. Has she gone near a window when she is making this sound, crying wanting to get out?

Me too, I have never heard it either.

I'm concerned for any squirrel that cries as that perhaps may be a cry for help due to pain, like that caused from a urinary tract infection.

She's never made that noise before. She's a very happy squirrel, and I did let her put to play and I haven't heard it again. She gets daily outside time a d lets me know when she's ready to go back in. She hasn't made it since either
