Hi everyone! Hope everyone is doing well. Once again, thanks for all your help & support to everyone comes to this board. It's really amazing! :w00t :Love_Icon

Here's my situation: Next week is spring break. My husband and the kids would like to go somewhere for a few days. Maybe 2 nights and 3 days. I'm hesitant because of Buddy.

He is doing great! Enjoying the nicer weather and sun! Spending his time in his outdoor release cage playing around, jumping, eating, watching the neighborhood. :dance

I still take him in at night. It's partially, I love playing with him for a while before he goes to bed. :Love_Icon

So the question is... do you think he'd be okay for a few days alone in his outdoor release cage (his nest box etc. is in there and he sleeps there, if I'm a bit late to pick him up to move inside)?

I can ask one of the neighbors to give his food. In that case, what should I ask them to give? Or maybe I can make 3 separate bags with veggies and his blocks and ask them to just drop that quickly in his bowl; early in the morning or evening (when he is more likely in his nest box, so there's no risk of him running away)? And also make sure he has water?

What do you think? The other alternative is that I can also stay home. I'm trying to weigh my options.

Thanks!

I think Buddy will be fine. In a few days I don’t think he’ll wild up much before you return. If you have a neighbor that can feed him that would be ideal. I’d put a days worth of veggies/blocks in a bag so it’s easier to give. Provide a couple of water bottles that are completely full so that doesn’t have to be dealt with.

My biggest concern would be him escaping while the neighbor was feeding. I don’t know how easy that would be without knowing your cage setup.

Thank you Mel! :w00t I actually decided to stay. It was going to be a few days anyways, we also have a dog, so between the two, I'm staying this time around.

His cage, unfortunately, doesn't have double door. :( But he's been really good. So far, he hasn't tried to get out even once. He is just happy to see me and when I get inside very carefully, he just wants to stay on my shoulder. But it's been always just me who gets in and out of the cage. He is in his nest box by the time the sun set. So, that's why I was thinking if the neighbor can drop off the food after sunset. Once he is in the nest box, he doesn't get out.

Either way, thanks for your response. :hug Have a great weekend! :dance
