Babies make all kinds of sounds. They make a purring sound when content. And alarm and chitter when frightened. Just make sure you’re not hearing a clicking noise that comes from their chest when they breathe. That would be a sign of aspiration pneumonia.

At 5 weeks you should be feeding them 4-5 times a day and 5-7% of their weight at each feeding. Is this what you’re doing?

Yes i have them eat 4-5 times a day and if they wake up hungry i usualky will give them some food too. They are eating fruits right now mainly watermelon, mango, and avocado and havent been showing much interest in formula except for their last feeding and they drank 4-5 ccs of formula and some fruit.

The first food you should have introduced is a rodent block. They need one to provide the proper nutrition when they wean from the formula. Henrys Picky Eater blocks are well liked. You can order them from Henrys Pets online. There are other hard extruded rodent block but I question whether they’ll eat them now that they’ve had fruit. I fear you are going to create picky eaters by giving fruits before leafy greens and things like broccoli, baby kale etc. you should limit the fruits they get and give them no nuts until they go out to the release cage. It will make your life much easier....trust me.

I was told to give them softer fruits due to the fact that their top teeth still havent really grown in too much and they cant really chew anything.

Who told you that? Rodent block should be their first solid food. They don’t always eat it well, but it gets them used to it. The Henrys blocks aren’t hard like Harlan Teklad block is. They will be able to break them up with their teeth.

Are you sure they’re 5 weeks old. The upper and lower teeth begin to emerge at 2-3 weeks. At 6 weeks their grinding teeth erupt. At 6 weeks you want to provide a water bottle as well.
