I love feeding these sweet squirrels with sunflower seeds but after they have eaten, I often finding lumps that look like a combination of grass and I don't know what else. These are larger than the seeds and always the same oval shape. Help please as I am worried. I am so glad I found this forum!!!

I’m not sure I understand. Where do you find lumps?

Sunflower seeds are not the healthiest choice for feeding. Almonds are better, as are walnuts and pecans. Peanuts, although loved dearly by squirrels, are also unhealthy.

Please explain so we can offer suggestions or advice.

Thank you for your response. I put out little bowls of the seeds and I find these lumps in with seeds. I am glad to know about the nuts you suggested...I will go shopping tomorrow. And have a happy New Year!!! Anne

Hi! You've got me curious. Are they oiler or the big sunflower seeds? Any chance of posting a pic?
