I have a 7 week old baby that has just started not eating and is very lethargic. I just started hearing faint clicking but seemed like only when he was eating. Now it is more prevalent. I have started him on Baytril as of yesterday morning but I want to make sure dosage is correct. I also wanted to give him some infant ibuprofen to help him rest better and reduce any inflammation. Can someone please help me with the dosage?! Today he won’t eat or drink anything. Yesterday I did my best to get some pedialyte and apple juice/water combo in him and he seemed to perk up but today he seems worse?

He is about 7 weeks
He weighs 125 grams today
Baytril using is 10% oral solution/dosage says 10mg Enrofloxacin/kg body weight per day
(I have only been giving him .01ml twice a day) I then try to get him to drink some yogurt with goatmilk mixed for the acidophilus.
Ibuprofen oral suspension 50/mg Per 1.25 mL is what I have.

If he has fluid in his lungs keeping his head above his chest should help. Keep him warm. Snuggle with him if you can because I imagine that he is scared.

Does anyone have any good suggestions on how to administer the medicines? I’ve been mixing it with a little bit of apple juice? Is that ok? He fights me the whole way and I think we both end up wearing most of it

You all ready have the proper strengths, mixing it is diluting it.
Are you administering with a syringe?

Well I’ve only been giving him .01 ml and then I added apple juice to try and help it go down but now I see what you mean. I just read somewhere that the medicine could burn going down. I will follow your dosage on PM and no mixing (or diluting).

Sorry, yes I’ve been administering with the syringe but he won’t swallow it. He just lets it drain out
