Not sure whether this is an emergency, but do need advice urgently please. I have a 10 week old male squirrel who was pounced on by a small dog (9 lbs) this morning. I managed to free him quickly and he ran up a tree and sat very high in the tree for about 3 hours. He has been out of the cage daily (all day long) since 15-Sep-2020. After the incident this morning he would not come down from the tree when I called, but around noon he was waiting for me lower in the tree and allowed me to pick him up.
He drank 15ml formula at that time. He seems very lethargic though. I can handle him without him flinching and there are no blood/puncture wounds visible. However, I noticed a 'lump' (pink spot on photo) on his abdomen just forward of his right hind leg. He drank 10ml formula again tonight and might have eaten some solids. I have him back in a small cage so he can rest and be safe for now.
Can someone please give me advice what I should do for him?
