I have a baby Eastern Grey squirrel, about 5 weeks old with both eyes open and 86 g, who we found on Sunday. I think he might have pneumonia, he’s been sneezing, is making a he clicking sound and aspirated a bit of formula when I was feeding him a couple hours ago. I’m not a licensed rehabilitador, and I live in Decatur, GA. I’m not sure what do, and I think he needs help quick. Please let me know if there’s someone who can help ASAP.

Try to get one pill and we can dose it for you by adding water if you get the weight of the baby in grams.
Try calling friends and family members and see if they have just ONE Cipro (Human Ab.) Baytril (Animal Ab.)
Clavamox (Animal Ab.) Or Augmentin (Animal Ab.)
What size syringe are you using and what formula are you feeding.
Thank you for helping this little lost soul. :grouphug

We have Clavamox for our dog and my neighbor has Amoxicillin— let me know what is better. We’re currently using 5 ml syringes but we also have .3. We have smaller ones coming in today. We’ve been feeding our squirrel Esbilac. Also, just weighed him and he’s about 95 gram. Let me know what to dose.

Thanks for your help!!

I got your PM but can't figure out how to respond. I got that I need to crush up Clavamox, but it cut off and doesn't say what to mix with it. Could you let me know? Not really sure how to navigate this forum yet.

Clavamox is 125 mg tablets.

For a little one weighing 95 the dose will be 0.032.
You take ONE (1) Clavamox tablet and crush it into a fine powder.
Place that into a small container with a lid.
to that you are going to add 2ml of water,
The dose will be as follows:

0.032

Keep the baby well hydrated and on a probiotic.
Good luck with this little one.:grouphug

Any questions please post on open board since I'm having huge problems.
Your welcome!
