Hi everyone!
I am a new member and this is my first post :)
Last week I was outside and I found a baby squirrel (I think it fell out of the nest). I think it's around
5-6 weeks old based off of my research. It's eyes are open, but it's tail isn't curled up yet. I brought it inside and quickly looked up what to do, and read that I might need to feed it some Pedialyte, but didn't have any. So I made a homemade version that I found online ( homemade rehydration fluid: made by mixing a few pinches of salt, 1 ½ tablespoons sugar, 2 cups warm water) and fed it a little of it after it had calmed down. I put in a box with a heating pad underneath it. So that day I got some Esbilac, fed it a little of that and have been feeding it that and water ever since. It has been peeing every day, but it only pooped the first few days and isn't going at all now. I don't know what to do! It was bloated also at first, but after researching what to do I took care of that, and it isn't bloated any more. But I still need help with the constipation. Also, when do I start feeding solid? There are so many different opinions online. Please help me, I only want to do what's best for it! :(

You are no longer feeding the rehydration solution, correct? Plain water with a little sugar for taste can be fed in between feedings for hydration. You can also try white corn syrup in place of the sugar since it has some laxative properties. Also try diluted apple juice or prune juice in between feedings to see if that will get things moving. Another trick is to hold the baby in some warm water up to its armpits while gently stroking his belly in a downward motion. Don’t let him get chilled afterwards.
