A person found this baby a few days ago. It was trying to come in through the door where she works , acting like lost. No mama, and her boss kept shooing it away. I can’t remember ages of when teeth come in. If someone could give best estimate , I might try and find another close to same age and release them. Or, by estimate , is it too old to try and find a release buddy ? And here in MS, is it still ok to soft release one /another this age?

Very weird... this lone picture does not really help to age this baby.

Also, the teeth are weird. Baby teeth are white.. the usually do not start turnip orange until they are several months old (6+). In this pic the uppers look orange and the lowers look white? And the lowers are not pointed (unworn) like you might expect in a fall baby.

I agree with the teeth, very curious.

Ok, I’ll messsge her (the finder) and get her to send better pics . They are calling is a “baby” but maybe it’s stunted? I won't be able to get it until tomorrow or Friday . Asking her for better pics now,

Looks like a baby to me. However old it is I have two about the same age.

We will check her out better hopefully over weekend. I just don’t have a way to overwinter one, and if it can be released this fall, I hate for it to be alone out there in RC. I’ll check with my “boss” person and see if she or others have any similar in size that we could possibly combine. I just worried it was far too old to accept another.

Looks like squirrel and finder are writing a paper about corona...
