Baby found

I found a baby squirrel yesterday at a friends house. I brought it home because it looked weak. I gave it pediatric electrolyte and it seemed to help.I can't find anywhere to take it. Can it be released back where I found it? I don't know what to do.

if i were you i'd try to find a rehabber. originally i would have suggested reuniting the baby with mom, but it sounds like it's been too long.
