Four flyers just arrived here. Their tree and nest was cut down and removed . Workers found the baby’s . They look to be approximately the same size/age of the two my mama Flyer presently has . I haven’t dealt wit these much at all ( babies). I know they’ve been without mom several hours. Should I rehydrate first ? Then Fox Valley 20/50? Or, could I cautiously move my mama and her babies to a bigger nest /cozy cube and see if she will accept them??

Oh my, I’ve heard that momma flyers will accept other babies, but have absolutely no experience with it. I hope others will chime in. Have you held the babies close to the cage mommas in to see how she reacts when she comes to smell them?
Do you have Spanky’s number? I’d call him to see what he advises. If you need the number text me.
:bliss More babies!

I know .... As if we were lacking baby flyers?? But if this could work... It could potentially allow a “group” that could be released ... But Leah and Teenie couldn’t survive this late in the game :( and I don’t know if there’s even a colony at our place. On way home now; it’s actually three:

Just seeing this.. I am sorry but I have zero experience with mothers taking orphans. Can we reach out to Anne?!?!

They are so tiny ; only weigh 17 g each. They are a bit smaller than mine ( they are 6 weeks old) . I think I have her number I will call. If I can’t reach her is feeing the same as with greys? Teenie was way bigger/ weaned when he came... I’m clueless here how to do basics.

Miss Anne said to try under supervision.
If doesn’t work , I will try and review threads about basics .

Well, I followed Miss Anne’s instructions .... And Leah wasted no time !! She came out, sniffed, groomed , and gathered all three and took them into her nest!!! I’m almost in tears... whatva good little Mama :)
I will be in and out of this room all evening and I’m off work the next 5 days so I’ll be keeping a close watch..
But if this works, I guess we can assume the answer is Yes, they do adopt! :)

What wonderful news! I had read that flyers were unlike greys in that they would adopt orphans. Guess we know that to be true until your little girl proves otherwise! ❤️😍🥰

OMG, how awesome is this!!!
I would increase mama's calcium intake a bit - that is a lot of babies! Do keep a close eye on them and make sure you don't have any "skinnies" developing.
She must have read the "Noelle" thread and decided to get in on the baby game!

Ok, thanks , didn’t think about that; will definitely keep the yogurt and other sources available. I always offer the wax/meal worms and avocado sprikled with calcium.
I’ll check out her story (Noel) :)

https://redwoodhill.com/products/plain-kefir/
If you can find Redwood Hill whole fat plain goat kefir, it's one of the best tasting full fat kefirs.
It has higher fat percentage than most yogurts do with no additives save the active cultures.
Not making a suggestion for formula here, just a source of high fat higher calcium quality easily digestible kefir for the mama.
