Question about diseases from squirrels. [Archive]

Hi,

So my husband asked me if there was any risk of getting any diseases from Buddy? We have 2 kids and I think he is more concerned about if there was any risk; such as rabies etc.

Since Buddy has been with us since he was 12 grams... I wouldn't think so, but I figured I'd ask it here and get experts' response.

Squirrels are not a rabies vector species.

There really is not much to worry about if you keep his space clean, don't allow poop and pee to go uncleaned... not so much about the squirrel as it healthy space, healthy folks (and squirrels).
