Hello. I live in India. I have two 2 and a half month old Indian palm squirrels. I've had them for two months. They are being fed milk+yogurt+cream mixture 3 times a day and a few pieces of carrot and avocado every day. Sometimes, they are given ragi. Sometimes, watermelon.

Palm squirrels regular coat color is brownish with 3 stripes.

One baby has a normal brown coat. But the other's coat is becoming dull and grayer and a bit ashy day after day. Otherwise healthy. Pooping well. Active and playing around normally.

Can you please advice.
Thank you.

Here in North America, most of our squirrels have coat color changes for summer and winter. The strongly reddish brown and gray squirrel by summer becomes icy gray with very little to no warm brown colors at all in the winter, even in warm climates. Might this be what you are seeing?

Hii. Thank you for replying.
I'm pretty sure that it is not that. We don't have distinct seasons here as we are close to the equator. We have summer for most of the year and 'Winter' which is slightly cooler than summer, but would still be hot for people in the north. So the squirrels here do not change coats and remain the same colour throughout the year irrespective of season.
So I wanted to know if there is some deficiency that is causing the dull coat.
Thank you.
