yesterday five babies fell from my neighbors tree. One died instantly. One has paralyzed back legs. The other three are uninjured. I’m posting in regard of the paralyzed one. She’s five weeks old. Her second eye just opened after I got her. She weighs 141 g. She has no use of and no feeling in her legs and tail. Upon getting her I checked for obvious signs of broken back and found nothing. Later in the day her belly seems bigger but not bloated. More like it’s inflamed from probable bruising? She has a puncture wound on her right side. Maybe needs antibiotics? What else? Dosages would be greatly appreciated. I’m going to try and post pics after I post this.

The pictures do not seem to show the problem. The puncture wound on the back you can only see by the greasy spot where I put the polysporin

Can she pee? That might cause her belly to blow up.
You are pretty sure that the puncture wound was from the fall? Sure no cats are involved?
Have you pinch tested her toes to see if she has ANY sense of pain?
Do you have access to any prednisone or prednisolone?

There’s no sensation in feet or tail. No chance of cat. I got there right after they fell. She only seems to pee if I express her bladder. That doesn’t get rid of much the belly. I don’t want to poke around too much Incase there is internal bleeding. She’s got to be at least all bruised up in there. I’m hoping it’s not infection.
I have prednisone 5 mg

I have been able to get her to pee from pressing gently on bladder. How do I get her to poo? There seems to be no sensation down there so tickling and running warm water over it doesn’t work.

Poor babies!
I am not a professional, just thinking out loud.
What ever punctured this little one could have caused internal injuries, bleeding etc. Hence the bloating. Or injuries internally from the fall itself.
Do you have access to a vet for x-rays etc?
Thank you for helping them!
