I have these baby squirrels about 3 weeks old. I noticed 2 of them have a bump on there lower belly. It’s only one bump. They are girls. The 2 boys don’t have them.
Any idea of what this is?
They have a heat pad half way under their box and they have towels between them and the heat pad.

Could be ant bites; could also be a little bit of a staph infection. Go to your local drug store into the wound care section and buy a bottle of Betadyne 10% povidone iodine. It is the orange red liquid that surgeons use to disinfect the skin before they cut (if you ever woke from surrgery and saw what looked like blood on you it was Betadyne). Feel free to purchase the store brand of the same and save a buck or two.

Add 20-25 drops of the betadyne to 1/4 water and apply to the area with a cotton ball or q-tip. Just wipe it on and let it dry naturally - make sure you keep baby warm. I would wipe the area near the bumps in case there are others getting ready to appear. Do this 2-3 times a day. It doesn't burn or sting at all.

BTW, the bottle you will buy is big enough to treat about a million squirrels, but you can use this on almost anything, on you, your kids, you other pets - it is wonderful for hot spots on dogs. Any time you see a rash or red bumps or anything you don't recognize, hit it with the diluted betadyne. If you are developing "maskne" - breakouts under your face mask, it does a lovely job on those, too.
