hi my name is keirra, i found a baby squirrel in the road 3 days ago. I brought him home and gave him pedalyte and went ahead and orderwd fox vally 32/40 formula.
He is a naked little thing, maybe a week old. 17g
He has been peeing and pooping well. No problems at all and we have been doing puppy formula til the 32/40 arrives. He has been eating well (1cc) but now is not interested in eating. I have rehabilitated a squirrel before but it was years ago when my mither was alive. Any advice on my hes not wanting to eat. 20200820_144501.jpg

Do you hear a clicking sound when he breaths? Since you rehabbed before, are you familiar with the signs and symptoms of AP?

Yes im familiar, but no clicking sounds.
And his poops are a dark gold like and his pee is good.
I been feeding every 2 hours. His color looks great and everything so im not sure why hes not wanting to eat. He takes a few laps and stops and will go again but will only take a 1/2 cc now. Should there be anything elsw i should look for. I cant think of anything else

Also ive noticed he keeps going into a feeding trance. ( his mouth mimics a fish)

I'd adjust the feedings from every 2 hours to every 2.5 hours and see how he does with that...

Just a word of caution: IF you start him on the 32/40 and his milk line doesn't move, and he stops pooping, STOP the 32/40. The sooner the better. If he digests the 32/40 with no problem and his milk line disappears, keep doing what you're doing.:great

Ok i will keep that in mind. If it does what should i do continue the puppy formula?

Please start the emergency MBD protocol. This sounds like MBD and even if it is not this protocol will not hurt and may well save his life...
