Around 3pm. I found two babies being eaten alive by ants! I'm just now trying to get some electrolytes in them because I was unsuccessful at getting a response from my local rehab facility. I mixed 1c warm water, tablespoon sugar and pinch of salt. I'm attempting to use a 3ml syringe. But not having any luck getting them to open their mouths. They are so small!!! Idk what to do!315903

Can you post a pic? If they have black toenails, squirrels. If white, not. Do you have a nipple on it or just the syringe? Super easy to aspirate them. Are you holding baby upright and angling syringe up to mouth?

Tried to post pics but I guess they are not coming through.
Toenails are white.

Sorry only saw your pic after I asked. They look pretty good. What color are the toenails? You might be able to reunite them with Mom unless she's dead and that's how they came to be where you found them.

Rats. Someone else will know what kind. Well you can try to get them back to Mom or try to raise them or find someone to take them.

I think they were knock out of the tree during a storm this morning.
I don't have a nipple on the syringe and they're so damn small I don't know how forceful to be.. ugh poor little whatever they are. (Toenails are white)

Well let's see. Someone had a similar issue last month and was advised to wait until dark to put them (in a box) under the tree for Mom to come get them. Rats will be coming out at night. Keep them warm until then and not sure if trying to hydrate is advisable if they're feisty enough to wait till dark. Risk of aspirating may outweigh benefit of hydration?
Hopefully an expert will see this and set you right.
EDIT: Also keep an eye on them while waiting for Mom but not so close as to spook her.

Do they have tails? Could be bunnies...

I see tails in the pic.
Please tell us how it went last night. Hoping they're back with Mom.
