Help please! I was just handed a young adult male who was hit by a car. No visible wound except maybe a broken right front paw (wrist). I have him on heat (low) since he is very shocky. I gave him 3cc of Gastrolyte 2 hours ago and he took it willingly. I tried to give him more just now but he doesn't respond.

The book says Rodents should be 1mg/kg of Meloxicam but the chart shows something else. I might have access to saline IV although but I'm not ay all sure I can :(

I gave him some Meloxicam for pain. I also have Gabapentin. Should I give both?

Advice please, I think I may be losing him! He's going downhill fast.

I think you are looking at WMB Volume 3.. the Rodent dose is 1mg/kg... the chart is for the non-rodent dosing.

I would hold off the Gabapentin until he is more responsive.

OK thanks, Spanky. I just gave him 3cc Sub-Q. Also rubbed his gums with maple syrup ... don't have molasses. He still just lays there... but he opens his eyes, to look at me, closes them, and his breathing is more relaxed now (I hope it's relaxation)and his heart beats more regularly it seems.

Please pray for that brave boy.
