Hi, I've recently became the owner of 3 baby squirrels as the mom has abandoned them. We left them outside for 2 days but brought them in at night but she didnt come back for them.

My question is in relation to heat mats. All guides say to keep on a 'low' setting. What's low? My heat mat goes from 25 to 55 degrees? 30-35 seems cold but when I go up to 40s it seems to warm. What do you do? I'm terrified of waking up in the morning to find they've died.

Are you sure your reading mat directions correctly? 55 degrees is not warm at all (unless Celsius).

It needs to be a non-shut off mat placed half under their bin and half off. So they can wiggle off or on to regulate their own temp.

The typical No-Auto-Shutoff heating pad stays on until You shut if off.
It will have 3 settings, low-medium- high
It heats to approximately 105° on low for the comfort and safety of baby mammals.

Hi

Sorry I'm in UK so its degrees Celsius. So at the moment it's on 35 which is 95 degrees Fahrenheit.

Is that ok? Or should it be lower?

Of if I go for 105 Fahrenheit then I will need to put it up to 40?

It doesn't shut off.

That is correct, 105 Fahrenheit = 40 Celsius.

Squirrels like it warm. Just place it so they can get off the heat if they get too warm.
