View Full Version : Can I vacuum around the kennel without giving him a heart attack?

I don't mean a literal heart attack (well, I hope not). I just don't want to traumatize him. We got a little dust buster thing but it's still pretty loud. My boyfriend works a lot and we've been bad at remembering to coordinate taking him in the bathroom while the other vacuums. I would like to vacuum more and it will be much easier if I can but I am afraid to even attempt it! Does anybody have any experience with this? I don't think I'd like it if I were him, but maybe they adjust fine? Obviously if this isn't going to work we will get on our coordination better!

They are like dogs, some hate the vacuum and will attack it. Some are scared to death of it.... some could care less.
Not to thread jack, but I have a release that shows up every time I blow the deck... all the other squirrels take off, she comes a running.

But they all like to eat the pipes.
Pnut used the vaccum to hide nuts in it when she was alive.

Mine have always been afraid of the vacuum but I use it anyway because they get over it quickly and the little stinkers are so messy!

Thank you for the replies! I know I was probably being overly cautious by asking, but I just wouldn't have felt comfortable without that validation. So, I tried it and he was pretty freaked, but we just kept doing it in kind of small doses (had to recharge it anyway) and he seems to be getting used to it. I'm soooo glad, because dang, he's a messy little guy!
