I will attach a poo pic. I want to know if this is normal?

Back story: 10 to 12 day old with previous owner 7days amd fed ensure.

I picked her up yesterday her weight is 27 grams. I got her at 9 pm last night.

Skin tugar bad, color too light, mucous membranes amd tongue dry. Rehydrated through the night on the homemade pedialyte from 9pm till 630 am .

At 6 30 royal canin puppy formula made with smart water . Watered down at 75 percent water 25 percent formula for first 3 , then next 3 feeding 50 percent formula 50 percent water for 3 feedings still at every 2 hours, now that it's going on 9 pm exavctly 24 hours since hydration with homemade pedialyte she is on the regular instructions of royal canin which is 1 scoop to 20 cc of water. Still using smart water for the mixing.

Finally she had this poo which isntvrunny. still yellow, but formed. Her first poo when ingot her at 3:30 am was runny and yellow, next one was at 6:30 not as runny but still yellow not formed.

Atleast this one is formed well and you can mush it.

How long will it take to get that ensure out of her system?

I helped a rehabber a couple times amd I think lee may have told me from henerys that yellow poo means they arent digesting the formula good yet.

I had 3 strokes directly after that so could someone refresh my memory please.

What do ya think about this poo since I cant remember the last time I saw pinkie poo. I'm use to 4 week old squirrels and315534d up.

That is perfectly normal pinkie poop.

By the way, what is smart water?

Edit... I just looked up Smart Water. I would not use Smart water. It has electrolytes. I would use plain water to mix the formula. If you want to use bottled water you can but don’t use distilled water.

INGREDIENTS
VAPOR DISTILLED WATER, CALCIUM CHLORIDE AND MAGNESIUM CHLORIDE AND POTASSIUM BICARBONATE (ELECTROLYTE SOURCES*) *ELECTROLYTES ADDED FOR TASTE

Well water is fine! The important thing about mixing formula is that it is allowed to sit in the fridge for 8 hours after mixing. It gives the particles time to rehydrate properly. I mix mine at night for the next day. Use very hot tap water (not boiling) to mix with powder. Put the hot water in tge container first and add the powder to the water.

Please never use DISTILLED water for yourself or animals. My BF spent 35 years in Water Quality for NYC, in the Dept of Environmental Protection. He always explains to people that distilled water, because it has nothing in it at all, actually draws GOOD minerals and salt out of the body and can cause a severe imbalance. He's actually seen its effect on people -- not good. Well water, tap water (if it isn't chlorine-loaded) and spring water is the best.

PS: yeah those are perfectly nice pinkie squirrel poops :D

Sweet peas new look. Sje is getting hair amd trying to sleep on her back like a grown up with her feet by her ears. Shess toasty. Lol.

She has made it another night amd day. Keep praying for her. Sje also went from 20 grams for a 2 weaker on friday to 23 grams yesterday. That ensure almost killed her they had her on. She had bloat amd diarrhea.

Keep her in your prayer. Heard of they make it past 72 hours she out of the woods. 72 houts will be monday at 10 p. Says lee. Vet app for her first well baby check so they cam look for bruises since the 4year old was toteing her at the first place, fallen tree, and listen to lungs since my pediatric scope melted n the car. No clicking but I would feel better when she gets listened to by someone with more experiance.

ISLAND REHABBER

Thank you for your kind words..

She is lucky I got her on 7/17/20 after previous owner git her from a cut down tree amd placed her on ensure. On top of that he was only feeding once in am, a couple times when he git home, once at night amd her brother passed before I git there. Drove 5 hours 1 way to get her.

She was severely dehydrated. Skin tuger greater than 4 seconds , grey, cold, not moving, decreased heart rate amd respiration.

After slow warming rehydration still had diarrhea. Assuming she had it before I gitvthere. Dried smear yellow poo stains all over the cloths he had her on.

Took a couple days for any poo amd she was then constipated
Sje also had boat before I git there per pic he sent so she had to have warm baths amd gas drops for a couple days.

SHE WAS ONLYB2P GRAMS FRIDAY. THIS AM 27 GRAMS. STILL UNDERWIGT FOR A 14. DAY OLD APPOXIMATELY FOR AGE.

HIS FOUR YEAR OLD ALSO DROPPED HER. SO WE R AT THAT VETS FOR A WELL CHECK UP ON THAT
THEY COULDNT C HER TILL TODAY.

CURRENTKY PINK, PEEING POOOING , SQUEAKINKING SINCE SUNDAY SO I THINK SJES FEELING BETTER.

ALSO INPLACED HER ON RIYAL CANIN ONCE SHE WAS HYDRATED. FORST TIME USING IT. SEEMS TO BE OK FOR NOW. SHES GAINING GRAMS WHUCH IS A SHICK . I DIDNT EXPECT HER RO GAIN TILL HER BKDY CAUGHT UP.

PS HOW DO U PIST A VIEDO ON THE SQUIRREL BOARD?

SJE HAS MADE IT THROUGH THE FORST 72 HOURS AS OF 10 PM LAST NIGHT.

Do I move her updates to some other thread now. Still scared 2 say a success story till 4 weeks old.

I attached a pic from this am. Sje is like hold up wait a min. Lol315550315551

Sorry Mary, it’s too blurry. I can’t read it.

Are you sure the baby is clicking? You will hear a definite clicking sound with each breathe.

Please keep your posts in one thread. It is very difficult to keep up so many threads.

HRT 3 aqymuirrel yes. Somewhere on numerous post is her xrays also. Under milk line is a milk line I git to get smaller but after her 12:30 feeding I checked at 3:30 cause she gets fed every 3 hours if the milk line is gone . It wasnt and wasnt at 6 either. So just been hydrating cause when she did poo it was hard. Gave some diluted apple juice and a little bit later massive poo. Milk line went smaller but still not gone this am ti spite soaks messages some electrolytes cause I was scared she had bloat too.

Now shes hungry sucking her paw or my lips off and on.

I was under the impression milk line had to be all the way gone.

What ya think.

Mary

The easiest way to identify bloat is to think of a balloon. If you blow up a balloon with air, it is tight, almost hard on the surface from being stretched by the air. But if you fill the same balloon with water or any other liquid, it will be soft and squishy and jiggle. Babies have little balloon tummies - if they are bloated the tummy will be round and tight and hard from the air. If you hold a just properly fed baby up by it's little armpits and let it hang below your hand, the tummy LOOKS like a partly filled water balloon - teardrop shaped, soft, and squishy. And if it is flat, she is empty and needs to eat.

Perhaps she is having trouble with the Royal Canin - it is supposed to be a good formula but is unavailable in most places in the US so we don't have much experience with it. I would give her a diluted feeding now - and see how it goes. Take pics of the tummy so we can see what you are talking about. If all is well, begin to slowly adjust the formula dilution back up to what they have on the label like you did before.

Are you stimulating her to poop before and after each feeding? I hope?

Can you please re-photograph the vet report maybe in a larger format?

And as others have mentioned, PLEASE stay on one thread so we don't have to go hunting for info. Don't worry about trying to tailor your questions to the various "rooms" - it is way easier for the people who are trying to help you with problems if you stay in one place. This can all be pasted into your original "Need Help" thread later by Admin if you wish.
