My about 10 week old california ground squirrel that I rescued from my cat has a small wound on her hand that has been healing while we’ve kept it wrapped. But last night she decided to chew through her bandage and chew off all but one of her fingers on that hand. We’ve got it cleaned and wrapped again, this time with a makeshift toilet paper roll cover but she is figuring out how to remove it to start chewing again.
I have read that cbd can help, which I have on hand. But don’t know the dosing. Please help me out if you can!
thanks!

You can use one drop of cbd oil. You might want to see if you can find any gabapentin. It helps with nerve pain and odd feelings.

are vets usually ok with prescribing that drug for the use of a squirrel?

I doubt a vet would recommend CDB but you can purchase it online. Some vets are using it but it hasn’t gained universal acceptance.
I reread the post and I think you were referring to the gabapentin. Yes, I would think vets will prescribe it.
Are you treating the infection? If not you need to. What antibiotics do you have? We can dose it for you.

Another person has helped me with getting her the antibiotics she is using right now, so yes she has been on them for a few days now.
I have to call still to see if the vets around me will take squirrels! Thanks!

Coast & Canyon wildlife centers are generally very good.
