Rocky is 12-13 weeks old now and loves to play and he is normally very sweet, but I have had several occasions where his teeth will make a chattering noise very fast and then he will just bite me or my boyfriend for no reason! We are doing nothing wrong and he just starts doing it. We are like his parents and take good care of him.. he is very spoiled and has no reason to bite and draw blood. Why and is there any way to avoid it?

There could be a lot of reasons. He could just be deciding he doesn't want the physical contact. Are you playing with him when he does it? Another reason could be he has a stash and you're getting too close to it. What's his setup? Free roam, a room of his own, a cage with outside play times? Do you notice it only happens in certain areas? That could be a stash. Also if you've changed shampoo/soap/deodorant/laundry detergent he might not like the new smell.

If it's a stash and he has a cage you could go hunting and remove it while he's in his cage.

Experts will possibly have other suggestions, but think about these possibilities for a start.

The teeth chattering is an aggression/"back off!" communication. My wilds do it when I'm giving treats and one doesn't want another to get close to me because she wants them all. That's what makes me think he has a stash.

They normally settle mostly on one person as their human. The other person may be getting to close to his property.

They are very possessive of property and food.

Got any pictures of Rocky you can share?
