View Full Version : Wild squirrel won't leave my porch

Hello, I'm trying to figure out if I need to help this squirrel that has been hiding on my porch for hours. This morning it came up to me while I was sitting in a chair. It was moving around for awhile and then the cat chased it to the front porch where it has been hiding for 4 or 5 hours. It let's me get close to it and is breathing hard. I dont think the cat injured it.

It looks like a fully grown squirrel. Could it just be scared? I have a picture but I can't figure out how to post it on here.

I see the pics. Hard to gauge size though. It could be a young one seeking help.

In the first picture, it's really hard to tell the age.
In the second photo, it has a young looking face.
If this little one approached you, he needs help.
Where are you located?

Spencer. I just scared it by accident and it fell in the water garden and is hiding against the house now.

Is he walking funny? Was he fast?
Do you have anything that you can put him in like a dog crate,
or some kind of cage?
What town/city are you in.
I have to go off line for about an hour.
Hopefully others can help you out with suggestions.

Im in Spencer. Its south of Ithaca. He was fast. I could find something to put him in, I don't want to traumatize him if he's just trying to hide from the cat though.
