I found a baby squirrel yesterday, being played with by 2 feral cats. When I approached they walked away and the baby was alive. No apparent injuries from the cats. Looked around for an obvious nest or mom but none apparent. Baby came home with me yesterday and had been kept warm, hydrated and started on Fox Valley formula. He took a total of 8ml of the Fox Valley over 5 feedings yesterday. Today he is more lethargic and I can hear clicking sounds when he breathes. Yesterday I pulled alot of dirt from his mouth when first offering the syringe with fluid so not sure if he has dirt in his lungs or . . .

Baby weighs 58 grams. I have 250mg Baytril that I can use to make an oral suspension. Just need dosing for this size baby.

Note that Baytril will help block pasteurella from cat bites (which can kill in 24 hours), but you also need Clavamox (Amoxicillin Clavulanate) to block the slow growing streptococcus that can kill in 4 to 5 days.
Original poster has not returned in 3 days.... :(
