So I noticed this morning that Zanos was sneezing a lot more. He is normally a snorter and has pretty much sneezes occasionally all his life but this morning when he was back in the nest house he had a sneeze attack. Should I be worried he caught something the the 3 days he’s been in the wild? Should I try and start him on an antibiotic to be safe? I have cipro, Amox and clavamox.

I’ve brought him inside and think giving clav would be beneficial for the time being. Just need to verify dosing. He’s 558g

Or maybe try a pediatric decongestant first? He’s only sneezing and snotty. No crackling in his lungs.

Need to know the milligram size of the clavamox.
Might you also have doxycycline? It can't be expired, unlike other drugs.

875/125 for the clav, I do not have doxy. I’m gonna try giving some decongestant first. If it doesn’t get better than I’ll switch to the AB. It’s been so rainy here that I’m hoping it’s just upper respiratory congestion.

Do you have Benedryl and do you need help with the dosing?

I have Benedryl and from another page it said .05cc per 50g-70g so .55cc?. Is that right?

I get .44 cc's for the weight.
I'm going to send you the chart.
Give me a minute.
Edit: Chart sent.

Make sure you have CHILDREN'S Benadryl - that is what the chart Nancy sent doses.

Thank you again for everyone’s responses. The benedryl helped. No more runny nose and his sneeze is very intermittent now. I’m going to keep giving him benedryl through the night every four hours and see how he is tomorrow before release again.

Just so you don't worry CritterMom, I told her Children's in the pm.
Thanks for the reminder though.

:) indeed, had to send the husband out this morning when I first noticed the sneezing to specifically get children’s decongestant. Ive amassed many children’s OTCs since I first got these babies 8 months ago. Don’t have any kids so it’s always fun when family rummages through my medicine cabinet and sees all the kids medicines :)By the time I made the decision to start with the decongestant rather than AB i had it on hand :)
