I have a ~4 week old baby with a missing toe in the back, the outer toe. Does anyone have experience with this? will he have issues when he grows up? He was stuck in a fence. He otherwise looks unharmed.

Missing the one toe will not compromise him.
Keep the area clean and watch to avoid infection.
