View Full Version : Threw up and wouldn’t eat the transition mix form esbilac to fv

Ive been follow direction on the percentage and doses for the transition from esbilac to fv. Today i was feeding the 25% esbilac and 75 fv and after taking it completely he threw up and wouldn’t take any more. Feeding was supposed to happen at 8:30 am I tried at 12 again and nothing. Im super scare please help.

He is a 41 day old flying squirrel . I would say 6 weeks

I tried again and he drank 1.25 ml what should i do to overcome this?

I would go back to 50/50 for a couple of feedings, then try again with the 75% FV. FV is richer tasting than Esbilac and it may have just been too much for him. You can also dilute the mixture a bit, adding three parts water to every part of powder, instead of two. Normally I never have trouble transitioning from Esbilac to FV, but he just might have a special tummy.

Squirrels cant really throw up. It's more like milk comes up when it in wrong place sometimes. Ask a experienced member about royal canine puppy replacer. I had better luck with that.
