I had a baby ground squirrel brought to me tonight. I got him warmed up and am getting him hydrated with pedialyte. The good samaritan reported they had noticed the squirrel staggering around for a few days. Today their dog picked up the baby and now it is dragging its hind end. He has defecated and urinated. There are no obvious bite wounds or fractures. I would like to start prednisolone in case it is a spinal injury, but I don't know the dose. Does anyone have any other ideas?
Thank you.

Prednisone would be a good call...
Meds are dosed by weight, can you get a weight on this baby?
Will also need to know milligrams of pred.

Sorry I left that out! He’s about 60 grams and I have prednisolone 3mg/ml.

They are 3mg. Thanks so much for your help. Anything else you think of that I might need to be doing at this time?

Your doing what you should for now warmed and hydrated, dark and quiet helps to relieve stress.
Will be sending pm in a few mins....
Forgot to ask, how much/many pred do you have?
