Hi brought back a baby squirrel today. Found 3 of these bugs on her body. They’re really tiny. It’s the brown spot in the picture. Can someone tell me what are these and will they hurt us? Thanks.

Also i think this baby fell from the tree as it keeps bleeding from its nose. Any measure i should take?

Thank you.

I see you’re in Asia. I’m not sure what that tiny bug might be. Do you have fleas there? I believe the fleas on squirrels are different than the fleas on dogs and cats. You can give the baby a warm bath with some mild detergent to rid her of any other bugs. Make sure you don’t get any water in her eyes or ears and wrap her afterwards and keep her warm.

Hopefully, the bleeding from her nose will stop soon. Wipe it gently and monitor her.

How old do you think she is? Does she need to be on formula? Can you post a picture?

Hi i think she is about 4 weeks old. She is very tiny but has opened her eyes. I fed the previous squirrel i saved with esbilac. But i have read recently that the formula has changed. is it still save for me to purchase it and use? 313354313355

Yes, that baby definitely needs to be on formula. I believe you have a couple of threads started on here and the formula issue is being addressed on your other thread. Until the formula issue is sorted out please give the baby some homemade pedialyte solution. Here’s the recipe: 2 cups warm water, 1.5 Tablespoons sugar and 1/2 teaspoon salt.

Has the bleeding stopped?

I fed her homemade pedialyte the first day. Unfortunately i already bought esbilac and fed her once as i wanted to get some food into her system first. I have stopped using esbilac and switched to goat’s formula without the heavy cream. She’s peeing normal but i’m waiting for her to poop to get a gauge on her progress. Unfortunately, when i fed her today and cleaned her mouth after there was still some light bleeding.

Sometimes it can take several days for there to be enough in their systems to produce poop. It really depends on how long they’ve been on their own. She will need some of the calories that heavy cream provides, but this is only a temporary formula. You need to find a permanent formula as she will be on it for many more weeks.

We’re you able to locate Royal Canin Babydog formula or are you able to order Fox Valley 20/50 online?

Hi i am planning to purchase Royal Canin from Lazada but it will only arrive earliest end of next week. Please do help me check if this is the correct item. 313367

Also i found that there are two different goat formulas. Is the permanent formula more recommended?

I didn’t add the heavy cream as i tried it with my previous squirrel and it started having diarrhoea.

Thanks for all your help so far, i really appreciate it

Yes, that is the a Baby dog formula I have.

As for the goats milk formula...the version with the egg provides more nutrients. I don’t think it would hurt him/her to have it....especially if you have cut out the cream. As they get older they need the additional fat for the calories.

Has the bleeding stopped again? Is your baby peeing and pooping ok?
