I have a Gray squirrel. She is 6 months old. Found her when she was just a few days old. Her usual diet is seeds, nuts, water, fruits and corn. She has a few chewing stones for her teeth and some mineral rocks to help with the vitamins and minerals she needs. Occasionally we give her branches from Apple trees. She likes the flavor. This morning she was fine and had her usual behavior and attitude. Then we noticed she was leaning over to the side and unable to stand or move around. She has some strength in her front paws but can hardly keep it for long. She is dragging her back paw and is breathing fast and heavy. We have given her water with a baby bottle and also gave her aome formula. One of the chewing stones was broken up this morning and I was thinking that she may have chunk lodged in her throat. Any other possible reason or suggestions would be appreciated.

Given the diet you have outlined I believe your squirrel has MBD - metablic bone disease. PLEASE go read this: https://thesquirrelboard.com/forums/showthread.php?32122-MBD-Treatment
If you do not have Tums or generic equivalent, I would get some NOW and begin treatment. Try for fruit flavor or anything that isn't mint flavored.

.............:yeahthat Not much doubt about that! Please begin treatment asap!
Mbd can be turned around IF caught in time, no sugar coating...
Mbd is very painful, it cripples and untreated it kills!
