I’ve been raising 3 babies, all from different litters but close to same age, approximately 4-5 months of age. One had broken a tooth so the vet trimmed his teeth to let other one catch up. I noticed he can’t shell nuts is how I realized he had a problem. I don’t know if it was from the fall from the tree when he was a baby. I’ve never dealt with teeth issues so I don’t know how to trim teeth. I don’t think watching a video is going to help me enough. I need a rehabber to show me. Vet will do it but they cost $45 every time we go. If he’s an NR then I’m not sure what I’m going to do with him. I want to keep him as a pet but losing Hammy was so devastating I don’t know if I can. I want the best for him. He’s so sweet and never chatters, and he’s not aggressive at all. The other two are wilding up and will be ready to be released in spring. I know he’ll be lonely when they leave. My other dilemma is one of my puppy/dog is a Feist, squirrel dog. Someone dumped her in our neighborhood as a puppy and we got stuck with her. My other terriers learned and were trained not to mess with my babies and they never did. This puppy is hard headed and half of the time she doesn’t mind. I know I can train her but it’s going to take time.
I just want the best for Luke and I’m getting attached to him. I get in the cage and he plays with me. He’s getting attached to me too.
Does anyone have any rehabber contacts in Alabama? I have some but they are almost 1 1/2 hours away. I’m in NW Alabama.
