I need a companion for my 3 yr old flyer jack! Recently split with my stay at home wife so jack is alone a lot more now 12-16hrs a day.
I feel so bad for him as he isn't used to that at all..
Looking for a male flyer.
Is there any other animal I could put with him? I've heard guinea pigs but I want to be sure.

Hello Mag and welcome to TSB.
Keep checking back here often. There are some experts on flyers here that can help you.
Thanks for caring for Jack.
Got any pics?

Mag, guinea pigs are day critters and flyers are night critters so they wouldn’t be compatible at all.
It is unlikely that your 3 year old male would accept another flyer. I got a second flyer for the first one and now I have two adjacent cages with a single flyer in them. It never works out like we expect. :grin2

Haha I've posted some in the past when he was younger.... These days he is extremely jealous of my phone so the second I pull it out to take a picture he just attacks it 😂. But I'll try and sneak one tonight when I get home!

Oh no really ☹️ crap. Do you think he's alright being alone a lot more now or is it something I should be concerned about?

You work days?
He'd probably be asleep anyways. At least most of the time.

I work days and some nights, I try to let him out every night around 4 o'clock for an hour then leave again, sometimes all night or until 11pm'sh but then I go right to sleep.
He used to be out whenever he wanted. The cage was open and my wife was always home so it's a big change for him.
Maybe Im over thinking it
