I am panicking so will make this concise, Matilda hopped from my shoulder into my refrigerator, the mayonnaise betrayed her and she fell to the floor she immediately started squeaking and crying and is highly favoring her front right paw, never have I EVER heard her make any kind of noise from pain, I don’t know how to tell if it’s broken but she won’t let me near it, I have infant ibuprofen, someone please help??? Her last weigh in was 433 and that was two or three weeks ago at a vets office, I’m not sure I can get a weight on her now but am looking for pictures
Sorry for a run on sentences I am holding her and one arm because she is inconsolable and so I am speaking to my keyboard

Matilda is as precious to me as a human child, I would do anything for her, I am freaking out

Update she has calmed down and is napping in my shirt, I gave her an almond and she ate it with both hands, but still being extremely ginger and not putting weight on that front right one, she let me touch her arm and elbow and hand and nothing SEEMS to be broken, I tried gently bending at the joints and they seem okay

She let me work through all her joints on that arm very slowly, she didn’t make a noise, but seemed to start breathing heavily, how do I know if I’m not just causing her terrible pain?? She would yank or pull away from me right??

I'm not sure but I've heard that they are very good at masking their pain so as not to be recognized as being weak by predators. She may be hurting.

She may need pain meds. I think liquid Infant Ibuprofen in recommended for squirrels but someone will have to dose it for you. You said 433 grams right? 2 weeks ago?

Yes stepnstone sent me a PM with dose! I know as a prey animal they are hard wired not to show pain which is why it broke my heart and sent me into a panic to hear her crying. I know she must be hurting because she is still favoring that paw and not putting weight on it at all. But if I successfully stretch and bend all her joints in that arm and she doesn’t pull away, it’s probably not broken, right??

Likely more of a sprain, she'll stay off it until she feels comfortable to put weight on it.
Give her time, these babies have amazing healing abilities.
Definitely subdue her climbing/jumping so she don't re- injure.

She is much better today. Still favoring, but much less so, and using it again. I was sure something had to have broken the way she carried on. I was so scared!

I’m sorry for putting my face on here but this is the least blurry photo I have where you can see her clearly!
