Switching formula?

I’ve been feeding him esbilac, but today I got new formula (the one recommended from Henry’s) and I need to know how to switch between the two so it doesn’t upset my baby’s stomach.

I’ve been feeding him esbilac, but today I got new formula (the one recommended from Henry’s) and I need to know how to switch between the two so it doesn’t upset my baby’s stomach.

You got the Fox Valley 20/50 correct?
If so, this is how to transition.
You take 3/4 of your current formula and add 1/4 of the new.
(Make sure to mix the new formula per directions, and then
add to your mixed formula.)
Feed that for about 4-5 feedings.
Then go to 50/50 mix for the next 4-5 feedings.
Then go to 1/4 your current formula and 3/4 of the fox valley.
Feed that for the next 4-5 feedings.
Then go to 100% fox valley.

IF at anytime you see a change in your baby's poops,
(two consecutive times) then, increase your current formula
and back off the FV just a little.
Please let us know if that happens.

Sometimes after introducing new formula, the poop will look
considerably different. The one thing we really want to avoid is
diarrhea.

Thank you so much! I am feeding the esbilac that was considered okay (it has the flag emblem on it) and I haven’t had any mishaps but I just wanted to be safe and switch to the 20/50.

The slower you do the transition, the less likely he will have any problems with it. Since he is doing okay, you have the luxury of being able to do a transition over several days . :thumbsup
