I found an injured young squirrel that can not move it's legs either due to be bitten by larger animal or a fall, it drags itself around using its hands.
Overall it is about 8" tail included, has fur and teeth, I have it in a cardboard box, it can and is eating small pieces of walnuts and cashews.
Except a couple of times drinking a bit of water from a tea spoon, I had trouble giving it water, it refuses to lick water from a tea spoon.
First item I need help with is:
How to give it more water and prevent it become dehydrated?
Next item is to find a person that has experience with injured animals an possibly will take care of this young squirrel, the location here is Niagara Falls, NY

Hi, thank you for caring enough to seek help for this little one. It would be helpful if you could put a heating pad set on low under half of the box. If you have plastic bin that would be even better. Please put fleece or shirt material in for this fellow to lie on and another piece for him/her to lie under. No towels!

If you can post a picture we could age him and access his condition a bit. We could also judge his weight unless you have a scale to get his wt. Are you able to handle him? One way to do that is to put a piece of fleece over him and pick him up behind his neck and shoulders. what is his body condition? Thin, cuts etc?

We will work on seeing if we have anyone around that area. In the meantime, if you would be willing to get some infant ibuprofen we could dose that for you and get some pain/ inflammation support going. It would also be good to give hydration fluid. Pedialyte would work, or here is a homemade formula. 2 cups water, 1.5 Tablespoon sugar, 1/2 teaspoon salt.

I am not a rehabber, but I wanted to share a website that I found to be extremely helpful in case you need it (saw that you are a junior member). Please continue to ask questions. This is intended as an extra, not a replacement for advice on this thread. (Also note the, see next page button. I know that sounds obvious, but others have missed it.) . Thanks for helping!
