Question about squirrel toileting

Hi everyone,

While rehabbing squirrels till they are old enough for release, do they just pee/poo wherever they are (after they become really mobile), like if they are sitting on your lap, etc. Or do they like to pick a spot in their cage and make it a habit of going potty there?

They seem to pretty much go anywhere...on you or the kitchen table...don't matter to them. If they are confined they try to limit their potty's to a corner away from where they sleep and play.

My experience anyway.
