So I wasn't sure which category to post this under, so sorry if I got it wrong, I just have a question about bruxing. What does it mean in a squirrel? I've had many rats and Guinea pigs so I'm pretty sure that's what the noise my squirrel very occasionally makes. But it means different things for those animals.

The squirrel is usually just hanging out with me or climbing around my torso when he does it, and I'm never sure if it means he's happy or very annoyed with me.

I do know that's how they naturally grind their teeth down, I just don't know if its tied to a specific emotion or behavior as well.

It is about the same as rats - sort of a sound of well-being. They will also nibble on you - your fingers and hands - not hard though after a while it can get uncomfortable!
