I have two healthy 9 month old squirrels that I’ve had since they were a week old. We bottle fed them and they have always been healthy no problems. We live In Orlando where it is extremely hot around 90-100 degrees and it always storms. We built them a huge outside cage which they stayed in for 2 months. They hated when it would rain and they got so hot.. we went on vacation and decided to bring them inside the house while we were gone so it would be easier for my mom to take them out and play with them and I didn’t trust them being in that hot weather without a fan... they have been inside since May.. They are used to people well Atleast 4 people. One of my squirrels is wild she would be great outdoors and she is very mean the boy on the other hand is the sweetest and I’m afraid he won’t do well outside and his sister would leave him all alone to fend for himself.. that breaks my heart. Has anyone had any experience with this? Especially releasing squirrels so old at 9-10 months... I’m like a worrying mom these are my kids... it would break my heart if they were released and hated it and other squirrels were mean... please if anyone has experience with this scenario let me know...
