Hi, I have an eastern grey squirrel who is about 5-7 years old. I’ve never had to trim his teeth before but I’ve noticed recently that his top teeth are very short. They are there but not the length that they used to be. There also seems to be small indentions on the roof of his mouth, which I think are coming from the length of his bottom teeth. I attempted trimming his bottom teeth yesterday. I used my dog clippers. I think I got them pretty even but there seems to be a little rough edge on the backs of the teeth. He’s pretty upset with me so I haven’t attempted to file the backs yet. I’m now worried that I should’ve just left them alone and I may have caused a problem. Will he be able to wear the rough edges down on his own? He seems to be eating his blocks and vegetables fine. Any advice would be so greatly appreciated! Thank you so much!!
As you can see in the photo, where I cut is sort of a v shaped cut because of the clippers. Therefore, the back of the teeth aren’t going down in an angle. Is this ok? I’m praying his top teeth will now grow back in and they will all realign. The two bottom pictures are after the clipping.
Anybody please feel free to email me at Luv11pets@gmail.com. Thank you so much!
