How old is your baby?
I can’t stay on any longer. I have to sign off. I might be able to help you in the AM. You are about 20 miles from me.

Is you baby clicking with each breath especial when he is asleep? Hold him to your ear like a telephone and listen. Sometimes they have a click right after feeding that come more from their mouth than the lungs and it will go away after a few minutes. With AP they click with every breath, they cannot stop clicking when they have AP. They will also become lethargic and loose their appetite with AP.
Aspirating formula does not automatically cause Aspiration Pneumonia (AP), but each time they aspirate there is a risk that they could and so we need to monitor them when this happens.
Asking friends, family and neighbors if they have any antibiotics, human or animal, is the place to start... you'll need only 1 pill to treat they baby for AP. It is a good idea to have something on hand just in case even if he does not currently have AP.
Some of the antibiotics that will treat AP include Cipro, Baytril (this is a vet med), Bactrim (SMZ/TMP), Augmentin, Clavamox (vet med), doxycycline (this drug cannot be used after it expires!). If you are able to locate an antibiotic but not on of these share the same and some will advise if it can be used to treat AP and help dose it (if necessary).
