Hello all, just want to make sure that fussy eating isn’t too much of a concern. Zanos gets his 4 cc in but he seems to lose interest after a few sucks. I’ll wipe his face and try again and he repeats. Takes about 15 mins to get him to finish it all. He is 90g now so he’s growing quite well. Poops and pees normally after eating. No noises or breathing issues. I’m using a miracle nipple on a 3 cc syringe. Should I drop down to a 1cc or take off the nipple to see if that helps? Or is this just sometimes how they eat?

How often are you feeding Zanos?
What formula are you using?
Make sure the formula is warm enough.
Some like it quite warm, but NOT hot.
Try stimulating him before or during
his feeding. I find that sometimes they get squirmy
if they have to pee. Once they have done so, they carry
on perfectly with eating.
How old is your little one?
Have you been using a miracle nipple right along?
How long have you had him?

Sorry for so many questions.
Do you have a picture of your little one?
We LOVE pictures. :)

Edit: One more thing. Take a quick look at this video.
Zanos isn't doing the "guppy mouthed" breathing, is he?

I feed every three hours. I have tried stimulating during and he will go but that doesn’t seem to help. I am feeding them esbilac now switched from petlac a few days ago. Not sure if he prefers the petlac and that’s causing the squirm. I do warm up the milk in a glass of hot water before and check that it’s a good temp. He is between 3-4 weeks, eyes still closed but thin furr all over. I’ve had him and his sister for 9 days now. I’m feeding at a 45 degree angle but he prefers to have the nipple in his cheek. Not sure why. This last time I only got 2cc in him. He just wouldn’t take anymore. He’s a healthy 90g and stool is firm and yellow brown, pee clear. I’m thinking of mixing in a little petlac into the esbilac to see if he takes that.

Just saw your last question. No he isn’t doing that. He will latch and then slide the nipple to his cheek but no open mouth eating. What does that mean if he starts? Might as well get the knowledge now:)

There have been many deaths due to the PetLac formula.
It sits in their gut like cement.

Please don't put PetLac into their Esbilac.

Are you using the powdered puppy esbilac like the one
pictured below?

You can try a little bit of vanilla yogurt mixed in the formula.
I too had one that was difficult to feed until I added some yogurt.

Edit: Your little ones are so precious!!!!!!!!

Ok thank you. I won’t add it in. I just fed him and after the first 1 cc I laid him back down. Fed his sister and then tried again and he took it like a champ. I think he just isnt an eater right after being woken up lol. I’ll continue this method and watch for any issues. Yes that is the esbilac Im using.Thank you!
