Bo seems to be healing up pretty well from the surgery to put pins in his femur, and he's jumping around and landing well more often than not.

Problem is, the fur on his bare butt still hasn't grown back. The scar has grown in some fur, but the rest of his hind end on the left side is still only covered with the barest of gray fuzz. It's been around 4 1/2 weeks. I was planning to start opening their portal in about a week or two, but I'm concerned that the lack of fluff on his booty will mark him as a target for predators as well as make him not as desirable to the squirrel ladies.

Is there anything I can do to help? How long does shaved squirrel fur take to regrow back in?

Maybe give him another week? As long as hair is starting to fill in, I would not worry too much about it.

Most of their hair growth is during seasonal changes.
They shed their winter coat and grow summer fur in the spring.
And grow their winter coat in the late fall.
So you will probably not see any great amount of replacement hair for several months.
