Hi all,
so I rescued since babies a few weeks ago..I think they're 5-6 weeks now? their eyes are open and they're becoming more active lol I have a few questions!

1) can they have water now? if so in a bowl or syringe?after every feeding I wipe off the milk with a warm wash rag and they try to drink the water

2) how many hours apart do I feed them? I'm doing 4 hours right now but they don't act very hungry like they used to at 2 hours

3) when can i start incorporating other foods into their diets? theres so many different answers all over the internet and I don't want to do something wrong.. here's pictures of them now 😇♥️ 309110 309111

The first and only solid should be high quality rodent block. I am a fan of Henry's which you would feed 2 blocks per day (they are concentrated). No other food until and unless they are eating their blocks well. At first they will simply crumble them into pieces, but after a week or so they will start eating them.

You can place a rodent type water bottle on their cage for drinking.

At 6 weeks I feed formula 4X a day. At 7.5 - 8 weeks and they are eating blocks and solids (veggies) I cut back to 3X a day.

thank you. also, I heard you don't need to feed them that much throughout the night. is that true?? I've been feeding them everytime the alarm goes off not missing any feedings.

I stop getting up at night after eyes open (more precisely after the last of the baby's eyes are open :grin2).

That usually means about 7 hours overnight in my case. I think up to 8 hours is fine... I introduce Henry's when they open their eyes. By 6.5 - 7 weeks they are eating the Henry's block and am I starting to intro veggies. :thumbsup
