Year old squirrel in MD needs a place for soft release. This is from a post in a FB group I belong to. If you are able to help, you can post here or text me at 2032147427

Ugh, I just confirmed that someone is living in my release cage.:( I saw him go in tonight before sunset. When I approached, he freaked out and exited. But I saw him sneak back in about 10 minutes later. I only have one release cage. I think it is one of Mia's fall babies that was recently kicked out since she just had a new batch of babies.

Contact has been made, diet will be cleaned up, and will look for a transfer in a few weeks.

The scary part of this is that the finder called a wildlife center that would not hesitate to euthanize or track the finder down through the telephone # and call DNR. She must have been tired that day. We did set up a contingency plan while waiting to transfer her squirrel to my place, in case they did get a knock on the door. Finder had made the call to this center 5 months ago.

I just don’t understand why it takes so much effort to save innocent wildlife from the brutal ministrations of humanity. God bless us all.:grouphug

Probably because lots of people just "follow orders" or maybe really don't give a damn. Thankfully, not everyone is this way!:great
