Eggs are one of the most nutritious sources on the planet. With squirrels are known to consume bird eggs in the wild, in captivity egg yolk

(soft boiled) and (fully cooked) egg white of chicken eggs, given in a (2:1) ratio, provide a ready source of protein and high nutrient content;

this especially from the egg yolk. (See file be sure to scroll down to nutrient chart on 2nd page)


For the (smaller) Southern ssp. of the E. Gray of a lean weight of 625 g. or under, feed 1/8 Tsp. daily.

For squirrels over 650 g. , limit this source to feeding (1/8 Tsp.) every other day.


For the (larger) Northern ssp. of the E. gray squirrel, and the Midwest ssp. of the E. Fox squirrel of a lean weigh of 775 g. or under, feed 1/4 Tsp. daily.

For those over 775 grams, limit this source to 1/8 Tsp. daily.
