Needing some help too! I have 3 approx. 4 week old squirrels, got them two days ago and have been feeding them 4cc every 4 or so hours of Esbilac powder formula after they were rehydrated. They are urinating in their bed, but all have not pooped! I am using a warm cotton ball to stimulate both before and after feedings, I have been mixing apple juice in their last three feedings and they don't seem to have bloating. I have also tried warm baths with massaging. Please help!! Can attach pictures below, I have rehabbed quite a few red squirrels but never gotten them this old.

Also not sure if this is something to be concerned about but when stimulating bladder they are not relieving at all. Their bedding is constantly soaked with urine though!

Can you post pictures? I will PM my e-mail address if you are having troubles.
Do not add apple juice to the feedings, but you can give diluted apple juice in between feedings.
Are they bloated?
Sometimes it will take up to 72 hours for poop, the longer they have been away from mom before a rehabber starts working with them the longer it may take for poops (nothing in the tank from mom). Did you transition them to full strength formula or start them off on full strength formula? Also, the Esbilac should be mixed very well, with hot water, several hours before feeding and stirred occasional (stored in the fridge) to get it fully dissolved. They can have a hard time digesting it if not fully dissolved.
How much do the babies weigh?
It is weird they will not urinate with stimulation. I would try to stimulate with just my finger (it helps it you wet your finger in warm water first).

I attached pics of their bellies right now (due for a feeding in about 30 mins) also the poop in their bedding and the only poop I have collected from one of the babies. There are 2 males and 1 female
Male 1 weighs 4.2 oz
Male 2 Weighs 4 oz
Female weighs 4.2 oz
They lady who found them said she ran over their mother 5 days prior to calling me but was unaware she had babies until she found them in the hood of her car the day she called me. Not sure if it truly was 5 days as they were dehydrated but not emaciated, and took to pedialyte relatively quickly. After being rehydrated they were given a watered down formula and gradually brought up to full strength in 4 feedings. I also make the formula before the next feeding and you a blender bottle to shake it up well and refrigerate 4 or so hours before feeding. Good to know on the apple juice, I will try to give them some diluted now before their next feeding if you think its safe.

It looks like they are pooping moms milk still. They will be pooping for you soon. As Spanky said, you can use your finger to stimulate them and I find on the pinkies and the hard to get to urinate, it works the best. Kinda gross tho.
Are they good eaters? The eyes are open so that means they are approximately 5 weeks!

Ok good to know! I know how cautious you have to be with these little guys one wrong thing and it can be life or death so thank you for the peace of mind!! Tried stimulating them with my finger and nothing yet but I'll try again at next feeding.
They are VERY good eaters, want to eat more than they should. Ok I thought they were close! Last squirrel started opening his eyes early this morning!!
One of the males had a three or so pellets of poop come out when I stimulated so fingers crossed the others aren't too far behind!!

They look great. I am so jealous. I would sell my soul for a little foxer baby.

So finally getting poops! Although I am starting to get more worried about the urination problem. None of the three babies are releasing any urine when I stimulate them. I have since separated them all as they were all sucking on eachothers genitals. One of the males does have a pretty open tip, the other is having almost like a thick mucous looking discharge, may even be a flap of skin as it will not come off but I don't want to be rough. Open to any tips!!
Both males are urinating in their bedding between feedings but female's bedding is bone dry.
