Jasmine is almost 3 months old. Today she has not been as roudy as she normally is. Normally she is bouncing off the walls. Today she has went back to bed to sleep for a while. Back up playing now though just not as active. She has weaned from formula. She is eating pretty good. She eats Henry high protein blocks about 1 or 1.5 a day but the last couple of days just a few bites and throws it down. I ordered her the picky ones. I have Mazurri rat block and Kaytee rat block that she doesn't like. She loves sweet potatoes, eats a little kale, brussell sprout, brocoilli. I have dehydrated veggies that she loves and will eat pretty good normally. Today she has only taken a few bites of her HHP block. She seems to only want to eat sweet potato. Of course if I let her she would live on nuts but I limit those. I have birds and she seems to find the nuts the birds throw outta of their cage. So yesterday I kept her from the nuts. Today she seems not as hyper. I am a little worried. is it okay for her to just eat sweet potato? She is always finding my plastic stuff and chewing on it. Should I worry about that? She has a huge cage with a small tree cut to limbs in there to crawl around on. It is am elm I think. I think that is a safe tree for her.

I don't have all the answers, but I would not let her have more sweet potato and make her eat those healthy blocks! Don't give other foods until she eats it. Worried she might be coming down with MBD. I think sweet potato is high phosphorous and bad for her to have a lot. Could be stopping her from getting all her calcium absorbed.

Thank you I took all her food out except for her hhp blocks and the mazurri rat block. She may think she is starving but hoping the picky ones come in soon. She just normally is running laps around the chairs and today just chillin. Playing very little. I am having a bad day. Maybe she is just in tune with my bad day. But I am going to make her eat the two blocks in her cage before she gets anything else other than the mazurri blocks. I did let her eat a little of a rolaid this morning hoping she needed that. she seemed a little more energectic after that.

Just incase her jaw is hurting, I would grind the block up and add it to plain organic yogurt (Stonyfield) 1 1/2 Tsp. with 1/4 Tsp. of natural Organic applesauce added to give it a better flavor.
After she eats it then feed her organic baked Butternut and Acorn squash both have good ratios of Ca:P, and are lower in sugar content; these can be fed in place of both f sweet potatoes and yams, that have significant inverted Ca:P ratios, IE higher in considerably phosphorus than calcium content, and are high in sugars, and carbs.
"Earthbound" organic brand carries frozen BN squash already chopped into cubes, having no preparation, fast cooking by microwave, and no waste for you only take out as much as you need to feed daily.

I definitely would back off the sweet potato. Along with the Healthy block you could offer sugar snap peas, fall squash like butternut or acorn, avocado and kale. I would also try to sweep up the bird seed so that she doesn't have access to that.
She might be reacting to the weather as I believe most of the country is cold now except FL. Of course, don't discount symptoms as weather related if this continues.
I would absolutely NOT allow her to chew plastic. I will never know for sure but I believe I lost a 4 year old healthy flyer due to plastic chewing. He was a maniac when it came to plastic. I let him out of the cage and he sought out plastic to chew. I really didn't comprehend the magnitude of the problem until after he passed. I found large volumes of plastic 'saw dust' in his hang outs. This was not a 'little bit' of plastic it was large volumes. I don't know if you have ever seen the documentary about ocean birds consuming plastic. There is an island where there are thousands of birds in varying stages of dying due to a belly full of plastic. The decayed carcasses reveal a skeletal remain with a cavity full of colorful pieces of plastic. Like I said, I will never know for sure but I have a high level of suspicion that plastic caused his death. Let's just say I won't let it happen again and I always warn others about it.
