Aww, that's a shame. Yes, they will mold if not kept in the freezer.
They have no preservatives.

I did the same thing with my first bag, had them in the fridge, they got funky. It's a good idea to keep rodent blocks, like Harlan Teklad (Envigo), or the others, on hand for fill in times when you're waiting on a bag of HHB's.
